DIPLOMA IN GRAPHIC DESIGN

1) Program Details

Diploma in Graphic Design is a creative process involving field that combines art and technology to communicate ideas through visual communication. Graphic designers are able to produce designs such as packaging, advertisements and printed electronics, pictograph, magazines, logos, corporate identity, magazines cover, web sites, brochures and so on. 

Diploma in Graphic Design also combines creativity and concepts in current field of graphic design industry today. Students will gain a broad understanding and ability to apply lessons learned from subjects form in theory and principles of design, engineering drawing and illustration, computer software operating skills, develop ideas, concepts and design problem solving in graphic design.

2) Entry Requirement

  • Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least 3 credits or equivalent

OR

  • Possess certified Creative Multimedia Certificate (Sijil Multimedia Kreatif) or equivalent OR
  • Possess certified Sijil Vokasional dan Teknikal or related or equivalent to 1 year working experience or relevant or 1 semester bridging program

OR

  • Possess Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least 1 credit.

AND

  • PASS Interview and Drawing Test by College.

4) Industry Exposure

  • Exposed to well recognize competitions such as Mural Design Competition, Logo Competition, Corporate Branding, Design Competition and etc.
  • Field trips to well-known government organizations and companies including Media Prima, Rumah Kartun and Komik Malaysia, Moving Walls, Digital Durian and etc.

5) Pathway To Further Study

During practical classes, students will learn how to design the graphic items such as logo, rebrand corporate design and make advertising. Students are able to enhance their skills using the software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe in Design and Adobe Flash. Thus, they can further their study in Degree in Graphic Design/ Product Design/  Photography/ Fine Art/ Creative Multimedia/ Digital Creative Content/ Fashion Design/ Visual Effects and Concept Design or other suited programmes offer from other IPTS.
