1) Program Details

This programme is a multidisciplinary field and provides students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills required in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) field to meet the increasing demands of this industry. This field is concerned to tackle on not only the high risk industries such as construction sites and manufacturing industries, but also concern the non-industrial workplace, such as public services and statutory authorities. Upon completing this programme, students will have the capability to measure the requirements of safety and health in the workplace, be equipped with legal requirements knowledge on implementing OSH in Malaysia as well as be trained on hazards recognition and risk assessments, team management skills, OSH professionalism and also capable to maintain safety and health in this 21^st century workplace. Graduates of this programme are highly sought after to meet the talent needs in various industries.

2) Entry Requirement

SPM or equivalent

Pass English and Bahasa Melayu and obtain THREE (3) credits in:

• Mathematics or any ONE (1) Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, Applied Science); and
• any other TWO (2) subjects (including English and/or Bahasa Melayu)

4) Industry Exposure

Students will be exposed to OSH related program conducted with industry internally and participating in program by industry externally, visits to NIOSH or DOSH, field trips to manufacturing company/construction sites and will be having industrial attachment for a period of 6 months during the last semester (Semester 7).

5) Pathway to Further Study

Students may pursue their study in Bachelor in Occupational Safety and Health or any other related field in public/governmental or private institutions.
