1) Program Details

The programme is aimed at training pharmacy assistants (formerly known as dispensers). The programme provides graduates with knowledge, understanding and skills in the field of compounding and dispensing and is exposed to skills of analytical, problem solving, enterpreneurship and information technology know-how. Apart from that, they are also required to have good skill in communication.

2) Entry Requirement

(For Bumiputera/Anak Negeri Sabah & Sarawak/Orang Asli only)

Candidates A: SPM with at least 5 credits in:

• Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
• Chemistry
• Biology
• English
• Bahasa Melayu

AND pass in History (since SPM 2013)

Candidates B: Pre-Diploma Science UiTM (PD007/PD008)

Pass the upgrade process of UiTM Pre Diploma science with CGPA 3.30

4) Industry Exposure

Industrial visits to the pharmaceutical industry or community pharmacy. Hospital attachment at government hospital during practical session in semester 5 and 6.

5) Pathway to Further Study

Qualified Diploma in Pharmacy holders can apply to pursue for the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.), Health sciences or sciences program at UiTM or other Institute of Higher Educations.

6) Career Prospect

Pharmacy assistant/dispenser (Government Hospital, Clinic), Pharmacy assistant/dispenser (Private Hospital, community pharmacy), Assistant Enforcement Pharmacy Officer, Lab assistant (Dispensing laboratory), Sales and marketing in pharmaceutical industry, Quality control personnel in pharmaceutical factory, Line technician in pharmaceutical industry, Healthcare assistant, Research assistant, Academic assistant.
