Academic Requirements
For International Applicants, there are two levels of Academic Qualifications that will be considered:
International Admission Qualifications by Country according to the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
AND
MiCoST Admission Requirements according to the program
Note* If your institution is not listed, please fill out the attached form to check your equivalence
Documents Required
All foreigners who wish to pursue their education in any level of education in Malaysia are required to apply for a Student Pass from the Department of Immigration Malaysia.
Student Pass Application Procedure.
Foreigner in Government Schools;
Foreigner in Private Schools;
Foreigner in public higher education institutions;
Foreigner in private higher education institutions;
Foreigner in language centers;
Foreigner in training centers under Department of Skill Development;
Holder of Dependant Pass (Expatriate)
Payment
Student Pass – RM60.00 per year or part thereof
Visa – rates apply by country but do not exceed RM50.00 for each visa issued
1. Applicants who are abroad
Student pass application is submitted by IPT / IPTS / IPS and students are allowed to enter after obtaining approval.
For countries that require a visa, students need to obtain a visa at the Malaysian Embassy, at the High Commission, or Malaysian Consulate abroad before entering Malaysia by submitting an offer letter.
Upon entry into Malaysia, IPT / IPTS / / IPS must submit the student’s original passport to the relevant State Immigration Office to be issued a Student Pass.
2. Applicants who are in Malaysia
Applicants can submit student pass applications at IPTA/IPTS. Upon approval, the applicant
Upon approval, the applicant is issued a JP Visa free of charge. Fees apply for student passes and Multiple Entry Visas.
DOCUMENT REQUIRED
Support letter ( Ministry of Education / Department of Skill Development)
Offer letter from schools / higher education institutions/ language centre / training centre;
Two (2) sets of Form Imm.14;
Two (2) sets of passport copies / travel documents;
Two (2) sets of colored photos (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm);
Personal Bond form (stamped); and
For students who wish to transfer university/college, they need a release letter from their previous university/college, attendance report, academic performance report, and support letter from the Ministry of Education.

Pre Medical - Health Checkup
New international students are mandated to undergo the following medical screenings in accordance with the requirements of the Malaysian Ministry of Education. In addition, the medical screening results shall be certified in accordance with the medical screening guidelines set by the Ministry.
Post-Arrival / In-Country Medical Screening
(a) New International Students
New international students are required to attend a medical screening at a panel clinic in Malaysia within 7 working days of their arrival date.
(b) International Students applying for pass Renewal
International students who are renewing their student passes are not required to attend in-country medical screening
(c) International Students applying for Variation or Progression
International students who are already in the country and applying to change their course or institution (Variation applications) and students who are progressing to a higher level of study (progression students) will be required to attend an in-country medical screening at an EMGS panel clinic if the last in-country medical screening was done more than 90 days from the date of applying for a new pass.
